IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME BETWEEN DRINKS!
With so many shows in production across our theatre groups which we all try to get along to see and reciprocate by co-promoting, there's been little time for getting together socially. And whilst the annual Theatre Festival is a major drawcard for all of us, once again, everyone's busy helping out and contributing to in one way or another. It's also been a number of years since the Star Awards attracted a social gathering.
So, your Alliance Committee Members have decided to have some "US" time: time for networking, socialising, profile raising, community and fun.
A SOIREE, to launch the 2012 Season of what each of our inidivual theatrical groups are doing, will be held at the Buderim Tavern. For those of you who came along to the Theatre Festival launch, you will remember what a beautiful venue it is.
We're offering the early bird special of $30pp until 30th December, and then it will be $35pp.
Numbers are strictly limited to 140, so it will be first in best dressed. and speaking of best dressed: we felt it was appropriate to ask our members to "Dress to Impress" so THERE'S A PRIZE for the most impressive!
The evening will be hosted by Channel Seven’s Rosanna Natoli. Bookings can be made, from 1st December, on the Alliance website www.livetheatre.com.au

We're under construction!
After years of toil and many hurdles...
After much blood, sweat, and tears...
After begging, borrowing, and stea...well, no, we haven't stolen anything!
We are finally building new dressing rooms and patron toilets (including an accessible one) and re-roofing the courtyard!! Yay!!
Many thanks must go to Andrew McKellar of Andrew McKellar Design for his patience and contribution to the new building design (and re-design after re-design after amendment, to suit funding arrangements!)
Thank you Damien Davidson of Damien Davidson Builders for your commitment to complete Stage 1 within budget despite some cost overruns.
Thank you Reece Plumbing for donating $10,000 worth of fixtures!
Thank you Dr David and Mrs Eleanor Nimmo for the private donation of $1,000!
Therefore the theatre will be 'black' from November 7, 2011 to March 2012 ready to be re-launched in April 2012 with the Australian classic play, Travelling North by David Williamson.

2013 Productions
Submissions are being called for Season 2013.
Prospective directors are asked to present their ideas to the Production Committee. To book an appointment, please call 5449 9343 or email info@noosaartstheatre.org.au.
Noosa Arts Theatre is always interested in receiving submissions from directors wanting to put forward productions for consideration, including comedies, dramas, pantomimes, cabarets and musicals.
The theatre is also interested in hearing from anyone interested in putting forward a proposal to stage classics such as Shakespeare, Chekov, Ibsen and the like. The theatre is also open to 'pro-am' productions being proposed.
Directors are invited to speak to the committee abour their proposals and field questions from the committee about any aspect of the proposed production. The committee then decides on which production will be staged for a balanced program.
If you are interested, please download the Production Proposal Form, fill out as much information as possible and send to The Production Secretary, PO Box 3, Noosa Heads, Qld 4567.
40th Birthday Celebrations
A milestone has been reached at Noosa Arts Theatre - September 15, 2010 was the 40th Anniversary of the humble beginnings of what is now known as Noosa Arts Theatre. On that night, after a performance of Fiddler on the Roof, we celebrated by downing a glass of bubbly and cutting a large celebration cake.
Celebrations continued with the Gala Performance of Influence on April 30, 2011, which doubled as a celebration with the author and our Patron, David Williamson, who marks 40 years as a playwright in 2011.
A 56 page, full-colour booklet of the history of the theatre has been printed and is available for purchase for just $10 - a great keepsake at a terrific price.
