Noosa Arts has a reputation for staging plays and musicals of a high standard and very well attended performances, so early booking of tickets is highly recommended.
Calling for Submissions!
Noosa Arts Theatre is always interested in receiving submissions from Directors wanting to put forward productions for consideration, including comedies, dramas, pantomimes, cabarets and musicals.
The theatre is also interested in hearing from anyone interested in putting forward a proposal to stage classics such as Shakespeare, Chekov, Ibsen and the like.
At the beginning of each year the Production Sub-committee calls for submissions for the following years production schedule. Directors are invited to speak to the committee about their proposals and field questions from the committee about any aspects of the production. The committee then decides on the which productions will be staged for a balanced program.

Script Development
As part of Noosa Arts commitment to foster new talent, the theatre hosts rehearsed public readings of new plays. These readings help writers gauge public reaction to their works gaining valuable feedback.
It’s also a great way to keep the ever-increasing number of actors (experienced and new) and directors shows to work on, developing their skills in a shortened time-frame. They also give feedback and make suggestions to the author to improve the script.
There is nothing like having your words read aloud by other people to crystallise what works and what doesn’t in a new script.
