Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance is one of the most popular light opera comedies of all time. It’s a rollicking tale of Pirates, less than brave policemen, a Modern Major General and of course a love story!

With such memorable songs as, ‘ I am a Pirate King’, ‘Poor Wand’ring One’, ‘With cat-like tread’ and the famous patter song from the Major General, this is a fun filled show for all ages.

Directed by Jane Rivers

A message from The St Vincent de Paul Society

The St Vincent de Paul Society Family Support Service is a very important provider of aid to the poor and needy of our Noosa community. We have been here for many years. In the last year we aided nearly 2000 people with the value of the aid being nearly $150000.00. Whilst most of this is raised through the retail shops of SVDP (the “op shops”) we are also very dependent on community sources of funding.

Our aid is very varied with an emphasis where possible on ” a hand up rather than just a handout”. We provide alot of financial help in the form, for example, of rental support, vehicle registration and repair costs and accessing accommodation, loans and legal support. We have a major educational cost support programme and of course provide food including in the form of a weekly community meal for the needy.

Our local branch is totally dependent on volunteers. Whilst the organisation is Catholic in origin we are totally non denominational in respect of both volunteers and those we serve.
